In anticipation of my trip to South Korea, I've gone and ordered a Canon EOS Rebel T1i DSLR camera. This camera is going to be awesome, not only does it take 15.1 megapixel photos. But it also shoots video at 1080p at 20fps. Not fabulous if I wanted to shoot flawless full HD video, however it should be sufficient for the occasional video clips and was the main reason I choose it over other cameras with similar specs.
In late Nov, I'll be heading off to South Korea for a 10-day holiday with some friends. I'm really excited, being a avid fan of kdramas, I can't wait to see Seoul and Busan in person. If anyone has suggestions of places to see or things to do, I'm all ears. We're liking going to visit the N'Seoul Tower, Changdeokgung Palace, tour the DMZ and definitely try some real Korean food.
Autumn at Changdeokgung Palace, hopefully it'll still be this pretty when we get there...
This is going to sound geeky, but I really do like this song:
It has a nice catchy tune and I like how it references (almost) every Apple product - hardware and software. I've been to the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue numerous times and know firsthand how insanely busy and crowded it is. So I'm not surprised that the guy was able to do this while not drawing much attention. In fact, I'm surprised nobody has shot a movie scene in there yet. It's one of the most popular locations for tourists and it's so iconic.
Usually I won't care enough to write about the latest news about movie deals and such (because there already plenty to complain about. Seriously, do we need a movie about Legos?!? Don't believe me, check it here: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/2009/08/12/2009-08-12_lego_the_movie_plastic_building_blocks_join_roster_of_toys_getting_the_big_scree.html)
Anyway, I read today on SciFi Wire that Sony Pictures has hired writers to do Spider-man 5 and 6. (Article: http://scifiwire.com/2009/08/writer-hired-for-spider-m.php) Now if there was ever a movie that shouldn't go forward, it would be Spider-man. After the travesty that was Spider-man 3, it has left a bitter taste in my mouth that has not gone away and was hoping never to re-live that experience. And the thing that strike me the most from the article was this line:
"Raimi didn't embrace all of Vanderbilt's ideas, but execs at Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios have."
Somehow, this doesn't give me any assurances that the movies won't suck big time. Especially if these execs are the same people that think Legos would make a great movie. They're on the third writer for the script for Spider-man 4. Who doesn't think this is going to be a repeat of the last movie? Too many hands in the script means one bloated movie.
